The new lil lady in my life

Our dearest friends had baby #2  just 6 days ago.
For months, I have been planning this child's photo shoot, with just 1 bit of knowledge missing.....would we meet a girl or boy.
I got what I was hoping for them, Kendall Elizabeth made her debut right on time. She is perfect.
SO, I went crazy on Etsy looking up super cute hats and headbands.
I think things went well, as I have said before I am not a baby musher, BUT I was not in any way afraid to mush this baby. I mushed her brother and continue to mush him as best as I can mush a 2 yr old. He is my little girl Audrey's best buddy.
To say that the birth of Kendall has made me have baby fever is an understatement, I came home and said to my husband....we need to have another baby.  LOL! Alas, I feel I am too old.
So, I will live vicariously thru my friends and smooch their little ones.
This kiddo couldnt have been any easier. She sleeps and when she isnt sleeping she is a quiet princess.

Welcome to the world lil lady bug...you are loved by so many.

2012 Seniors

Seniors have always gotten their pictures taken the summer before their Senior Year, and that was always the norm.
This weekend I took 2 seniors' portraits who both graduate in the next month...and I totally GET IT!
I like the fact that the pictures are a culmination of their senior year.  It totally makes sense.
These young men gave me 2 very different shoots and I had a super lot of fun.
The first was my very talented next door neighbor, Adam.
We traveled to his high school to get some shots at the baby grand piano and on the field.
And then I drug him around to downtown Mechanicsburg and a local park to enjoy some outside shots.

I think I had more fun than he did.  LOL! What a wonderful time in his life. That is one of the greatest parts of my job.

Just a few hrs later, I met my next appointment, Jared, one of our resident firefighters, at the station.
For those of you all who don't know...my husband is the Fire Chief. So the station is like shooting at home for me....sorta.
so I met Jared and told him to suit up.
We did his turn-out gear and his Class A's...thats firefighter lingo for fire suit and dress clothes.

This kid has the greatest jaw line....I know you are reading this Jared and laughing, but seriously. He could be a movie star.

Then, I made him trek outside for some more great pics.....by sneaking in front of a nearby barn. LOL

Thanks to these great young men for 2 great times.
Blessings to you both as you head out on a new journey.

Geoff & Nichole get married....

I had the absolute honor of photographing a friends wedding yesterday.
The rain held off right up until the ceremony.
So I managed to get pics of everyone outside...EXCEPT the bride!
I love immersing myself in the ins and outs of a wedding. One of my favorite photos was of the bride writing her vows.

While she worked hard inside, the rest of the crew and I headed outside before the rain came.
The couple have 2 beautiful kiddos that only added to the sweetness of the day.

Even though it poured, we were lucky enough to score a carport/overhang at the Susquehanna club to shoot under, so we got a few semi/outside shots.

Congratulations Shenk Family! Thank you for allowing me to capture your happiness!

A New Endeavor....the pillowcase dress

My mom was so darn talented...seriously.
I have a brand new Singer sewing machine and I have no idea how to use it!
She can look at something and go home and whip up the idea and have it finished in 1 hr.
SO, during my visit to my parents, I showed her a pillowcase dress on Pinterest. I knew what she would do.
To help her along....
I went next door to the Goodwill, bought 8 pillowcases. Went to Walmart bought the other supplies.
I played her a Youtube video of a pillowcase dress tutorial...
It is 1 hr later and she has already started the second Pillowcase dress that I have officially named "the Dorothy".
The first dress is done and hanging on a hanger already. She looked at the tutorial and said:  "I can do that, but I will do it my own way!"  LOL
My daughter LOVEs the dress!
So light, airy and versatile because she can wear it as a shirt once it gets too short with little leggings.
I tell her every time I see her newest craft endeavor that she should go into business full-time. I think these dresses would ABSOLUTELY sell!
Imagine a vintage eyelet pillowcase dress!  LOVE it!
If anyone is looking for a great dress for a little girl up to size 8, let me know. We are ready to roll!
SUPER SPECIAL gift!

Not a Baby Musher

I had the honor to go to one of my fave clients houses yesterday and photograph their 2 week old son.
She said she wanted cute MUSH pics of Baby Myles.
I have to admit it. I am not a good musher.  After a dozen or so babies that all deserve MUSHING, I realize that it is a skill that I do not wholly possess. There are many good local photographers, there are only a handful of good mushers. And the price you pay for the mushing is 100% worth it.  A typical shoot that ends in cute little mushed up babies in hats withe their hands under their chin and their legs forward takes 4-6 hrs to shoot and an additional 10 hrs to edit....no joke!
I cant even get the kiddos to stay sleeping.  LOL!

Thank goodness I CAN still manage to capture some beautiful pics of even more beautiful babies, minus the smooshing and mushing skills.
Big Brother even got in on the action.
So blessed I am to see families like this grow AND that they allow me to TRY and mush their fully awake babies!
God Bless you Imes family!

A Daddy Daughter Dance

Yesterday I was delighted to photograph two little girls and their daddies before they headed to their Kindergarten Father Daughter Dinner and Dance.

We had wonderful weather and a beautiful property to shoot on.
The girls and their dad's were dressed in their best attire to enjoy a night together.
What a fun shoot, one that these girls will one day look back upon and cherish, as I know their parents will!

Bunnies and Ducklings and Chicks....Oh My

I am so blessed to have developed a great friendship with Paulus Farm Market, www.paulusfarmamrket.com. Since Fall, we have talked about Easter Portraits with their baby animals. So, the weeks passed and we anxiously awaited the Paulus Farm Easter Egg Hunts, and the day that we would enjoy our Portraits.
With the help of my mom, aka Mary the Animal Wrangler, we set out to capture some special moments with our little friends and the animals.
Despite the rain and a very busy farm, I think I managed to see some pretty sweet moments.
A Huge Thanks to my Guinea Pigs( aka my friends that were my first customer sets of the day) especially Dan and Susan Chopp with their absolutely sweet son Grantham. He was so expressive and just tickled with the baby animals.
The animals faired well, even in times that I thought we might "break" one.
After the farm calmed down and the rain stopped, we were able to go with our original plan and shoot outside. It truly changed up the feel of the pics. even though the kids could have cared less.  Much of the shoot was about the kids enjoying the animals, and I think that they all did, even the littlest of kiddos!
During the last two years, I have had a chance to meet some pretty wonderful folks and photograph their kiddos and families often. During this shoot, I added some new wonderful faces. Thanks to everyone for your patience with us and the animals.  We hope that your kiddos enjoyed their experience as we captured their happiness!
